Veterinarians Fitted Prosthetics To A Dog & Helped Him To Walk Again!

Dogs are amazing creatures that can overcome many challenges and hardships with resilience and determination. One of the most admirable qualities of dogs is their ability to adapt and thrive in different situations. Dogs have evolved from wild animals to domesticated companions but have kept their instinct for survival and loyalty.

Dogs can face many obstacles and difficulties, such as illness, injury, abuse, neglect, or abandonment. But they do not give up quickly, and they always try to find a way to overcome their challenges and hardships.

This story is about one such dog.

A better life for Naki’o

Naki’o is a mixed-breed dog from Nebraska. As a puppy, he was left in a cellar and suffered frostbite, which caused him to lose all four of his paws and a portion of his tail. He could never play with other dogs and could only move by dragging his stomach. Veterinarian assistant Christie Pace rescued Naki’o. She decided to adopt him and give him a better life.

Christie Pace said she had a soft spot for rescue animals. She was looking for something different, unique. She also said she wanted to make more of a difference than a regular dog. And she knew she could help him out. She also started a fundraiser to get him two prosthetic legs for his rear limbs, which cost between £600 and £2000.

First dog in the world with four prosthetic limbs

Naki’o’s story did not end there. Thanks to the generosity and expertise of Orthopets, a US company specializing in artificial pet limbs, Naki’o became the first dog in the world to be fitted with four prosthetic limbs. Orthopets offered to do his front limbs for free after seeing how well he was doing with his back legs and how he was struggling to use his front legs.

Naki’o had to face more challenges.

The process of fitting Naki’o with four prosthetic limbs took work. It involved several surgeries to revise his bone structure and making his legs more even. It also required a lot of rehabilitation and training to teach him how to use his new limbs and adjust to his new body alignment.

Naki’o born again!

Naki’o was a fast learner and a happy dog. He can now run, jump, play, and swim like any other dog. He can also enjoy the company of his adoptive family and his canine siblings.

Naki’o’s story is an inspiring example of how technology can improve the lives of animals and how animals can adapt to new situations with courage and joy. He is also a testament to the power of love and compassion humans can show to needy animals. Naki’o is not only a bionic dog but also a heroic dog.
